So far, investments in hydrogen focus on hydrogen production and applications. But getting hydrogen from global production sites to end users at the lowest possible cost is key to the success of the clean economy. But to date, a key component of the clean hydrogen economy has been overlooked – large-scale transportation to get clean hydrogen from production sites to points of use. This is a crucial puzzle to solve, as the most favorable production locations are found in often remote, renewable-rich areas, whereas demand will likely be highest in heavily industrialized and densely populated areas. So far, investments in hydrogen focus on hydrogen production and applications. But getting hydrogen from global production sites to end users at the lowest possible cost is key to the success of the clean economy.
